What is a palapa in Aruba, exactly?
The word comes from Spanish and simply means a palm-thatched shelter. On Aruba’s beaches a palapa is a fixed structure with a round or square thatched roof, usually big enough for a small group. It gives real shade, which matters on an island where the sun is strong from morning to late afternoon.

Who can use the palapas?

How to get shade if the palapas are taken
