Palapa Aruba — Beach Umbrella & 2 Chairs on the Sand
Palapa Aruba rents a beach umbrella and two beach chairs, set up and waiting for you at Eagle Beach or Palm Beach. Because we reserve the shade in your name, you skip the gear hauling and the dawn queue for a free palapa. In addition, you keep the same spot for every day you book.
What the Palapa Aruba package includes
One booking = one full beach setup for the day. So you reserve online, walk onto the beach, and your spot is ready.
- 1 premium beach umbrella — wide canopy, anchored against the Aruba trade winds
- 2 beach chairs — relax all day in the shade
- Set up before you arrive — reserved with your name on it
- Full beach day — 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- Leave and come back — swim, lunch, explore; your set stays yours all day
- Choice of 2 locations — Eagle Beach or Palm Beach
These photos show a typical set. We work with more than one beach stand, so the exact umbrella and chair style can differ from the pictures — the shade, the two chairs and the spot held under your name are the same either way.
Why book with us instead of a delivery service
A delivery company hands you an umbrella. We hand you a spot on the beach that is already set up, anchored and yours for the day.

Palapa Aruba: already standing at the spot
Nothing is delivered and there is nothing to set up. You walk onto the beach and sit down.
- Your umbrella and two reclining chairs are set up at the spot under your name from 10:00 AM. Nothing to carry, nothing to plant.
- It stays yours until 4:00 PM. Swim, go for lunch, come back, it is still there.
- Anchored and built for Aruba’s strong trade winds, so it stays exactly where we put it.
- Eagle Beach or Palm Beach, and you keep the same spot for every day you book.
- $100 per day + 16% tax, so $116.00 a day, no delivery charge. Book 48 hours ahead and it is confirmed the moment you pay.
What you actually get
Cheaper on paper. Everything else is on you.
- A bare umbrella dropped at your hotel. Hauling it across the road and down the sand in the midday heat is on you, and so is hauling it back.
- No spot is saved for you. Every morning you walk the beach looking for a gap, then dig the pole into the sand by hand.
- Aruba’s trade wind blows hard most afternoons. A hand-planted umbrella lifts out and cartwheels down the beach: a pole and a spinning canopy heading for kids, sunbathers and your own head.
- Your afternoon becomes holding it down, chasing it and re-planting it, instead of lying under it.
- Leave for lunch and you are gambling: nothing is reserved, nothing is anchored, and nobody is there to keep your spot.
- When the wind wins, there is no crew on the beach to fix it. You pack it up, and the day is over.
- If a flying umbrella injures someone, you planted it, so it is on you, not on the company that dropped it at your hotel. An injury costs far more than the few dollars a day you saved.
Why we do it this way. Aruba is windy, every day. A lightweight umbrella pushed into the sand by hand is exactly what ends up tumbling down the beach when the afternoon wind picks up. Ours are anchored for that wind and stay standing, which is why the set never leaves the beach and is never delivered.
The price gap is real, and so is the difference: a delivery service sells you gear, Palapa Aruba sells you a set that is already standing, anchored and waiting when you walk onto the sand. For two people, $116.00 a day works out at $58 each. Spend the difference on peace of mind. You are on vacation.

Palapa Aruba: frequently asked questions
What exactly is included?
One premium beach umbrella and two beach chairs, set up for you at your chosen location — Eagle Beach or Palm Beach — from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Above all, the set stays yours for the whole of that window.
How much does it cost?
In short, $100 per day plus 16% tax — $116.00 total per day. In other words, one price covers the umbrella, both chairs and the setup. Booking 48 hours or more ahead, you pay online now and we confirm your set instantly. Inside 48 hours we check against walk-in demand first. After that, we email your secure payment link.
Where exactly do I go?
Shortly after you book we email you a Meeting point button with the Google Maps pin for the beach you picked, Eagle Beach or Palm Beach. That email also shows the logo on the hut to look for, so you walk to the right one. Give your name at the hut and your set is already standing.
Can I book more than one day?
Yes — select your start and end dates on the calendar. In addition, each day is $100 + tax, and your set is reserved at the same location every day.
Can I leave the beach and come back?
Yes. Your set is yours from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Therefore you can swim, walk the beach or go out for lunch, then come back to it. Meanwhile the umbrella and both chairs stay in your name all day, so nobody else takes them while you are gone.
Booking, weather and refunds
What if it's windy or raining?
Our umbrellas are anchored and built for the Aruba trade winds. In the rare case weather makes the beach unusable, we'll move your booking to another day or refund you.
Can I take the umbrella to another beach?
No. Instead, your set is for on-site use at the location you booked. The set stays at the spot you booked and cannot be moved to another beach.
What if I just walk up without booking?
The locations do take walk-in guests when sets are free. However, with 8 sets per location they go fast. As a result, booking online is the only way to guarantee your umbrella — the calendar here shows live availability including walk-ins.
Can I cancel or get a refund?
All sales are final and we do not give refunds, because your set comes off the beach for that date the moment you pay. However, weather is the one exception. If the beach becomes unusable and we cannot set up for you, we move your booking to another day or refund you. The full booking and cancellation policy has the details.
Is it suitable for kids?
All ages welcome. The set fits two adults on chairs with plenty of shade to share.
Why not just rent an umbrella and have it delivered?
You can, and if the daily price is what matters most it is a fair option. The difference is what happens next. A delivery rental hands you the gear, and you carry it, find a spot, plant it and take it all down yourself. In Aruba that comes with a real catch: the trade wind is strong and blows most afternoons, and an umbrella pushed into the sand by hand can lift out and fly down the beach, which is dangerous for you and for the people around you. With Palapa Aruba the set is already standing at the spot when you arrive, anchored and built for that wind, and it stays yours until 4:00 PM.
Is Palapa Aruba more expensive than a delivery rental?
Per day, usually yes. Palapa Aruba is $100 plus 16% tax, so $116.00 a day, and that covers the umbrella, two reclining chairs, the reserved spot, the setup and the takedown, with no delivery charge. Split between two people that is $58 each for the day. A delivery rental is gear only at a lower daily rate, with the carrying and setting up left to you.
Do you deliver the umbrella to my hotel?
No. Nothing is delivered and there is nothing to set up. The umbrella and two chairs are already standing at the spot, at Eagle Beach or Palm Beach, under your name from 10:00 AM, and they stay yours until 4:00 PM. That is also why there is no delivery fee: the set never leaves the sand.
What a palapa in Aruba actually is
A palapa is the thatched shade hut planted along Aruba's beaches. Hotels build rows of them for their own guests. However, the public beaches have far fewer, so they go fast.
That is the gap Palapa Aruba fills. Instead of hunting for a free palapa at sunrise, you reserve a full shade set for the day. Then you walk up whenever you like.
Why free palapas run out by 7 AM
Eagle Beach is the clearest example. Because its palapas are first come, first served, towels appear before breakfast. As a result, every one is claimed by mid-morning.
In addition, hotel palapas are usually reserved for guests of that hotel. So if you are staying in a rental, or arriving on a cruise ship, they are not an option at all.
What Palapa Aruba costs
One set costs $100 per day plus 16% tax. That covers the umbrella, two reclining chairs and the setup. Above all, there is no delivery charge, because the sets already stand on the sand.
Multi-day stays work the same way. First, pick your arrival day on the calendar. Then pick your last day, and the total updates as you go.
Where to find Palapa Aruba on the beach
We run two locations. The first is Eagle Beach, the wide low-rise stretch that regularly lands on world-best-beach lists. The second sits in front of Palm Beach, so guests in the high-rise hotels can walk over.
Each location holds eight sets per day. Because that number is small, high-season weekends fill first. Therefore, book early if your dates are fixed.
How to book Palapa Aruba
Booking takes about a minute. First, choose your beach. Then pick your dates on the live calendar, and add your name and email.
The cutoff is 48 hours. If your first day is two days out or more, you pay online and the set is confirmed instantly. However, for same-day and next-day bookings we check against walk-in demand first. Then we email your secure payment link, usually within the hour.
What to bring
We handle the shade. Meanwhile, you bring sunscreen, water and a towel. Since sets are yours from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, you get the strongest sun of the day covered.
Finally, there is nothing to pack up. Instead, leave the set where it stands and our crew takes it from there.
