Short answer: whether your hotel has a palapa for you depends on the hotel. Some keep beach furniture for their guests, many beach palapas are public, and the public ones fill by 5 AM. If you do not want to gamble on it, you can reserve shade on the sand ahead of time.
Do hotels in Aruba have their own palapas?
Practice varies. Some hotels have beach furniture for their guests, some share the public beach, and some limit what is available at busy times. We cannot speak for any one hotel, so the safest step is to ask yours before you arrive what is included and how to secure a spot.
Check dates and book your umbrella
Pick Eagle Beach or Palm Beach, choose your dates and book in a couple of minutes. Your set waits under your name from 10 AM.
Public palapas near your hotel
If your hotel sits on Eagle Beach or Palm Beach, the public palapas are within walking distance, but they are free and first come, first served. Our guides to Eagle Beach palapas and Palm Beach palapas explain where they are and when they fill.
If the palapa is already taken
A full palapa does not have to mean a day in the sun. You have three options: arrive before 5 AM, bring your own shade, or reserve a beach umbrella that is already set up. The palapa or beach umbrella guide helps you decide.
Reserve shade before you arrive
Palapa Aruba puts a beach umbrella and two chairs on the sand at Eagle Beach or Palm Beach, already set up and waiting under your name from 10 AM to 4 PM. It is $100 a day plus 20% tax and fees, and it is a place on the beach, not a delivery to your hotel. See the Palm Beach umbrella rental or the Eagle Beach umbrella rental.
