We set up on two beaches, Eagle Beach and Palm Beach, and the question we get most is which one to pick. They are ten minutes apart and they are not the same beach at all.
Eagle Beach
Wider than Palm Beach and noticeably quieter. It is the one with the fofoti trees — the divi-divi trees that lean permanently southwest because the trade wind never lets up — and it is regularly ranked among the best beaches in the world.
The hotels behind it are low-rise, so the beach feels open rather than walled in. There is more sand between you and the next group. If what you want is space, quiet and a view that looks like the postcard, this is the one.

Palm Beach
Three kilometres of white sand fronting the island’s largest resorts. This is the busy end: beach bars, water sports, restaurants within walking distance, catamarans leaving from the pier. If you are in Aruba for the first time and staying on the strip, this is probably the beach outside your hotel.

Which to book
Pick Eagle Beach if you want the quieter, wider beach and you do not mind driving or taking a taxi to get food. Pick Palm Beach if you want to walk to lunch, put the kids on a banana boat, and be back under the umbrella twenty minutes later.
One practical note: Palm Beach is walkable, but the rest of Aruba is not. If you are staying there and only plan to leave the strip once or twice, a taxi is fine. Any more than that and most people end up renting a car for a few days.

Wind, and why it matters more than you would think
Both beaches face the same trade wind, and it is a constant on this coast rather than an occasional thing. Average speeds run roughly 6 to 8 metres per second — about 12 to 16 knots — with the windiest stretch covering March and May through August, and the calmest months falling between October and December.
The practical effect is the same on either beach. The wind keeps the heat comfortable, which is why Aruba rarely feels as hot as the thermometer says, and it also means loose beach gear does not stay where you put it. An umbrella pushed into dry sand by hand will lift, and on a crowded beach that is genuinely dangerous. Every set we put up is anchored properly for this wind before you arrive, on both beaches, which is the part most people do not think about when they compare renting to bringing their own.
Sun, and the hours that actually matter
Aruba sits about twelve degrees north of the equator. UV readings in Oranjestad commonly land between 10 and 14, peaking around March and April, and stay in the extreme band from roughly 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Unprotected fair skin can begin to burn in under ten minutes at those levels.
That is the same on Eagle Beach and on Palm Beach, and it is the reason the free palapas on both are gone long before the sun gets serious. Whichever beach you choose, the question is not really which one has better shade — it is whether you have shade booked at all when the middle of the day arrives.
Who tends to pick which
Couples and anyone after a quiet day usually take Eagle Beach. There is more sand per person, the low-rise hotels keep it feeling open, and the noise level is closer to a conversation than a crowd. It is also the better of the two for photographs, because of the fofoti trees and the width of the sand.
Families and groups more often take Palm Beach, because everything else is there. When somebody wants lunch, a drink, a bathroom or a water sports booking, it is a short walk rather than a drive. If your day is likely to involve people wandering off and coming back, Palm Beach makes that easy.
If you are on the island for several days, there is no reason to choose once. Book a set on Eagle Beach for one day and Palm Beach for another and see which one you want to repeat.
How the day works on either beach
It works the same way on both. Nothing is delivered to your hotel and there is nothing for you to carry down to the sand. Your umbrella and two beach chairs are already standing at the spot, set up and anchored, under your name. You walk up, sit down, and that is the whole arrival.
The set is yours from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM, and it is held for the full day rather than for as long as you stay in it. Swim, go for lunch, head back to the room in the worst of the heat and return in the afternoon — it is still there when you come back, because it was reserved in your name rather than claimed with a towel.
We run eight sets per beach per day. That is the real limit on both Eagle Beach and Palm Beach, and it is why days sell out in high season rather than an artificial scarcity line.

If your beach day is 48 hours or more away, paying online confirms it on the spot. If it is sooner than that, the beach has to be checked against walk-ins first, so you send a request with no payment, we confirm a set is genuinely free, and a secure payment link comes back to you by email. In both cases the exact meeting point is emailed after the booking is settled rather than published on the site.
