Hotel chairs are for hotel guests. Watersports huts rent chairs by the hour or day on Palm Beach. A reserved set gives you two chairs and an anchored umbrella in your name for the whole day on Eagle Beach or Palm Beach, $120.00 all in. The chair is the easy part; the shade is what runs out.
Searching for a beach chair rental in Aruba usually means one of three things: you are not staying on the beach, your hotel has run out, or you are coming off a cruise ship for the day. Here is how it actually works on the two main beaches.
Hotel loungers
Every beachfront hotel has loungers for its guests, usually free and usually in rows in front of the property. They are for guests only, and on Palm Beach the attendants check. If you are staying at a hotel across the road rather than on the sand, ask whether it has a beach arrangement with one of the beachfront properties; some do.
The catch with hotel loungers is the same as with hotel palapas. The ones in the shade go first, and a lounger in full sun at 1 PM in Aruba is not a lounger you can use.
Check dates and book your umbrella
Pick Eagle Beach or Palm Beach, choose your dates and book in a couple of minutes. Your set waits under your name from 10 AM.
Watersports huts and beach bars
Along Palm Beach, the huts that rent jet skis and sell snorkel trips also rent chairs and sometimes umbrellas, by the hour or for the day. Prices and availability change with the season and the operator, so ask on the spot. Beach bars will often let you use their loungers if you order, with a minimum spend on busy days. On Eagle Beach there is far less of this, because the beach is residential and low-rise rather than commercial.
A reserved set
This is what we rent, and it is built around a day rather than an hour. One set is two beach chairs and one umbrella, set up and anchored for the wind on Eagle Beach or Palm Beach before you arrive, reserved in your name from 10 AM to 4 PM. You walk down to a spot that is already yours. If you leave for lunch it is still yours when you come back.
$100 a day plus 20% tax and fees, $120.00 all in, for two chairs and the umbrella. Nothing extra for setup. Up to eight sets in one booking, so a family or a group gets one spot together.
Why we do not rent the chair on its own
Because a chair without shade is not a beach day in Aruba. The sun here is strong all year and the constant trade wind hides how fast you are burning. Every set includes the umbrella for that reason, and the umbrella is the part that takes work: it has to be set deep in the sand and checked during the day or the wind takes it. A chair you can pick up anywhere. Shade that stays put is the thing in short supply.
Chairs for more than two people
Each set is two chairs. For four people, book two sets, and they are set up side by side. The calendar lets you choose up to eight sets in a single booking, which covers most families and small groups. If you need more than that, ask us before booking so we can check the day.
How to book, and when
Choose the beach and the dates on the calendar. Beach days 24 hours or more ahead are paid online and confirmed at once. Days sooner than that are sent to us as a request without payment, so we can check the beach against walk-in rentals first; a secure payment link follows by email once your set is confirmed. The meeting point on the beach is emailed to you after booking.
In high season, December to April, book your chairs when you book your flights. Sets do sell out, and so does every other kind of shade on the island.
